5 Features Your Website is Missing

Good web design has to hit a lot of marks, it has to be just right for you, your customers and search engines.

If you don't love it, it will come across in the products or services you are selling. If your customers don't love it, you'll see it reflected in your sales, and if the search engines don't love it, then it doesn't matter how well designed it is for your customers, because they won't be able to find it.

If your website doesn't have these things then you are missing out on a great opportunity to add value to your site, whether for your clients/customers or for SEO and it might be time to add them in or even for a redesign.

1. Clear CTAs (Call To Actions)

If visitors are getting to your site then you need to be able to clearly show them what they should do when they're there.

If you want them to contact you about your service, big or bright "contact" buttons will immediately grab your potential clients attention and let them know what their next step is.

This can be a really great way of directing customers to your shop if they land on your blog, especially since blog posts can be such a great way to bring in customers by providing valuable advice to consumers seeking out relevant information.

2. An About Us Page

The "About Us" page is usually the second most viewed page of a website, do you it's not something you want to overlook. Three things you might want to include on it are:

  1. What you do;
  2. How you do it; and
  3. Why you're doing it.

First and most importantly is quickly and clearly letting visitors to your site know how you can solve their problems. Reassure them they they are in the right place and you are the right company for them to trust with this problem!

Secondly, the most transparent you are about your process, the more clients and customers know that they can trust you. Again, leave no questions about whether you are the right business for them.

Finally, people like working with companies who aren't afraid to show their passion. Your reasons for wanting to provide people with your products or services are why people will want to buy them, don't be afraid to share this with people.

3. User-Friendly Navigation

Frustrated customers are not good customers to have and complicated navigation is a sure-fire way to make sure that your customers are frustrated.

Every extra click that a potential customer or client has to make searching for something, the more likely they are to leave and try a different website - your competitor.

Ensure your website content is organised in a simple and logical structure. Every key page should be within 3 clicks of the home page - less if you can manage it without making the navigation bar messy.

Along with this, paying attention to page loading time and page responsiveness will make your site more usable for your customers.

4. Testimonials, Case Studies and Reviews

There's nothing like social proof to help people trust your business.

Although we still aren't past the age of word of mouth being one of the most powerful tools of getting more customers or clients, having testimonials, case studies or reviews help people trust your business even more.

Having a trusting relationship with your customers and clients should be the goal for every company, trust build loyal customers, and loyal customers are the backbone of businesses.

If you put time into making your website right for your customers, then everything else should follow along naturally.
